Objecting to the Bypass Plans

All objectors have until the 5th May to write to the Secretary of State for Transport. Following the public consultation period a Public Inquiry will be held in front of an Independent Inspector. The decision to proceed with the scheme will be taken after the Secretary of State for Transport has considered the Inspector's Report.

Traffic Forecasts (Mottram). This spreadsheet shows information extracted from the Environmental Statement published by the Highways Agency, and relates to the forecast traffic flows through Mottram.
Traffic Forecasts (Londgendale). These simplified diagrams show the differences in traffic flows for two scenarios: a) without the bypass vs. with the bypass; and b) without the bypass vs. with the bypass + spur.
Subsidence Risk. The environmental statement has raised concerns for residents in Mottram living close to the line of the cut and cover tunnel. The site www.savemottram.org.uk provides more information on this subject.
