Walking Routes

Why not see for yourself the beauty that stands to be destroyed by the proposed bypass. Here are a collection of walks that take through around different parts of the Longdendale Valley.

Walking Route 1: Swallow's Wood and Cow Lane (via Devil's Bridge) download map

A moderate walk taking you through farmland to the Swallow's Wood LNR before crossing Ogden Brook at Devil's Bridge and heading back to the start via [the site of] Hollingworth Hall and Cow Lane.

Walking Route 2: Mottram Old Hall and Cow Lane download map

This is a short walk taking up Coach Road to Mottram Old Hall, through Hard Times Farm
and back down Cow Lane. Excellent views across the Longdendale Valley to the Peak District National Park and Harrop Edge.
